Passion of Persia received a silk Chinese rug that was cleaned in home by a so called "Oriental rug specialist" The rug is loaded with so much chemicals that if we clean it, holes and rips will occur. It is called dry-rot!! chemicals dry out necessary oils that are naturally found in silk and high grades of wool. THe client wants his rug return to the original condition, and is willing to pay around 4000-5000 for the cleaning and repairs. This rug if he had us in the first place would cost around $300-500 for the proper cleaning. This is another classic example where trusting the wrong person can have disaster consequences.
